Аннотация

Мифология древних майя традиционно рассматривается через призму текста "Пополь-Вух", записанного в горной Гватемале во второй половине XVI в. и связанного с традицией майя-киче. Анализ иероглифических текстов и иконографии позволяет построить иную модель мифологии майя классического периода, при этом последняя представляется более правдоподобной как с точки зрения распределения мифологических мотивов в фольклорных традициях народов майя, так и в контексте американской мифологии в целом. Исследование сцен и сюжетов на расписной керамике классического периода дает возможность реконструировать три антропогонических мотива: "происхождение от оленьих людей", "выход первопредков из-под земли" и "творение людей из глины".
